1st, is that growth per year or in that whole timespan, just want to know? Second of all, HOW DOES KILLING 6-10 MILLION PEOPLE VIA FORCED STARVATION HELP AN ECONOMY? 3rd, Rusiia was super behind in term of tech and society. By using steam power and other mid 19c tech, they could do what Peter the Great did, but maybe better
1) per annuam growth

2) Stalin starved Ukrainians to sell grain on the world market, which generates $$$ which in turn buys machine tools needed to build factories

3) mid 19th century tech will not get you 20% growth per year

basically what do you think "forced industrialization" means?

why do u think there need to be so much "force"

hint: it's because it kills a lot of people in the process

When I think forced, I mean people worked to death, not starved to death cuz Stalin wanted to be a huge jerk. I know he killed tens of millions via hard labor, and how the population grew is beyond me. And what I mean is tech like railroads (recently made), telegraphs, portable engines (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_engine), and all the inventions of the 19c Industrial Revolution (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Revolution) which quickly were commonplace in ENgland (and the USSR ITTL), the USSR would likely have a rapid industrialization.
