WI: Bolivar Consolidated

Having watched the Extra History series on Bolivar, I wonder how Gran Colombia would have turned out if, before or after the Peru campaign he decided to focus on consolidating his gains and unify the rest of Latin America later. Would it have prevented Gran Colombia from splintering or merely have delayed the inevitable?

This goes against his personality. Bolivar was incredibly stubborn and driven to kick the Spanish out, which he viewed as a hostile power right at the doorstep. Given Ferdinands utter idiocy, and stubbornness he's kinda right.

Anyways if this were to happen, its of immense benefit to the Colombian state, which was utterly exhauated by just kicking the Spanish and royalists out. Now more than consolidation is needed; youd need devolution of powers. Things were too centered in Bogota and this isolated everyone. Furthermore, it hampered the states efficiency.

Doing both woukd drastically aid the state.
