How would BMW have developed up to the present in an ATL, where for whatever reason (successful BMC / Leyland, Rover merged with Honda, etc) it never acquired Rover in 1994 and with it the MINI brand?
Aside from a version of the 1993 BMW Z13 concept entering production (that in OTL was very close to production before BMW bought Rover) or more BMW Compact variants including a 5-door hatchback (that was looked into in the same period), what else would be different for BMW?
Would an ATL BMW have eventually been swallowed up by a bigger carmaker (Ford, Volkswagen, etc) or would they have sought other carmakers to acquire in order to expand and survive?
