I was just watching the music video for Tell Her About It, in which Billy Joel appears on a recreated broadcast of the "Ed Sullivan Show" as a teen idol with his own backing band, "the Affordables," and new hit. What would have been the likely consequences had things gone differently and Billy Joel had actually become a 1960s teen idol and eventually a lead singer with his own group, the video's "BJ and The Affordables"? Is it even remotely possible that he could actually appear on the Ed Sullivan Show in ATL, although obviously not in 1963?
POD would be The Hassles releasing more than two albums.
