WI: Bill Bradley wins New Hampshire in 2000?

Nope he couldn't.

Basically this. There was no way Bradley could have mounted a serious challenge to Gore, (principcally because Gore had overwhelming establishment and Democrat interest group backing) though he could have trailed the nomination fight out longer. That would have been bad for Gore; it would have made his path a little rockier, and would probably have drained the interest in McCain's campaign, easing Bush to the GOP nomination.

I think the one thing Bradley might be able to do is make Gore worry enough about the left to pick someone other than Lieberman as his VP, which probably would be a good thing for his campaign. Bradley would need to do more than just win NH for that, probably.

IMO it's a shame Bradley didn't do better.

It's an interesting POD. I liked Bradley best among the Dem candidates that year. As stated before, Gore was all set to cruise to victory. However, Gore didn't exactly have the full backing of Clinton, the DNC, or anyone else but Silicon Valley throughout the campaign.
Gore's flabby campaign reflected both the how he figured nobody in the GOP looked like a serious challenger (in the summer all the establishment GOP candidates were predicted to lose by ten points or more to Gore IIRC) until W won a nasty primary fight with McCain, et al. and sounded reasonable enough in the summer to not scare anyone if the GOP took over (how little we knew then!).
Bradley needed to run a series of wins that got him semi-close to Super Tuesday to spook Gore into taking it seriously.

IDK how well-capitalized Bradley was, or would be if he won NH, Florida or some other state. IF he draws enough money and delegates, he could mount a serious fight.
Parallels to the Clinton-Obama brawl in 2008 I think are misleading.
Obama managed to get enough donated funds to meet Clinton on even terms in money and better use of social media and a sense of purpose told in Obama's favor.
IDK if Bradley could pull that off. He could, but it depends on his campaign staff and how well they get the vote out.
Another X factor is Nader.
Nobody took him seriously until it came down to Florida and suddenly it was close enough to matter. IF Bradley manages to light enough of a fire under the base and offer enough fried promises to make Nader happy, he might butterfly the whole OTL mess, but one can dream. :D
