WI: Big Hero 6 part of the MCU

The first and only Disney animated film to feature Marvel Comics characters, IOTL, the production team decided early on not to connect the film to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and to set it in a stand-alone universe instead. But what if they hadn't- what if the decision had been made for them by Disney's executives to tie Big Hero 6 in with the MCU? How different would it have been? Could it have potentially been more successful, or would it have been a flop? And how might it have impacted the storylines of the rest of the MCU's Phase Two and Phase Three films- for instance, could Hiro Hamada have taken the place of Helen Cho in Avengers: The Age of Ultron?

There could have been a WTF in that the movie is an animated film, while the other MCU films are live-action (excepting the animated shorts)...
On the one hand, MCU fans could have been motivated to watch this movie if it was part of the MCU, but on the other hand I don't really know how to incorporate into the storylines...
If it was part of the MCU, it would have likely remained as a one-shot thing...

Also, I think the anime aesthetics could have been a bit off-putting too...
