Yeah, during the 13th century the Habsburgs had a "meteoric" rising, from irrelevant Swabian counts to German kings and Dukes of Austria and Styria. Let's upgrade it to "stellar".

What if King Albert I's son Rudolf had survived and defeat Henry of Carinthia's partisans and becoming sole King of Bohemia by 1307-9? Assume John Parricida gets tuberculosis/smallpox/ebola and Albert don't get assassinate, fully supporting his son.

My questions are: troubles Rudolph is going to face in Bohemia? I admit that my knowledge in much of Bohemia isn't pretty great, but can Rudolph succeed like John and Charles of Luxembourg in this endeavor? Would Albert divide his domains to his other sons? Other than Rudolph he had three more (Frederick that became anti-king to Louis the Bavarian in OTL, Albert and Leopold) and Bohemia-Austria-Styria-Swabia is simply too big a Hausgut fro Rudolph to swallow (and the Princes too).

Speaking of it, Rudolph's chances to be elected seems to be pretty low now, IOTL the princes got afraid of the Habsburgs "meteoric" rise, one tier higher it looks even worse IMO. Well, food for though!

EDIT: Whoa, I missed that Albert had TWO more sons: Henry and Otto.
