I encountered the Mandela Effect for the first time in my own life a couple of days ago, when I discovered that, rather than being executed as a traitor following a court-martial, Benedict Arnold survived the American Revolution to spend the remaining two decades in exile.
I'm reconciled to the effect: This timeline is very similar to my native one. At least I didn't wake up to find out that everyone was speaking Basque. That said, what would the effects have been had Arnold been so arrested by the American revolutionaries and executed? Would there have been any noteworthy effects on the United States or on Anglo-American relations?
