WI Benedict Arnold had been executed by the Americans?

I encountered the Mandela Effect for the first time in my own life a couple of days ago, when I discovered that, rather than being executed as a traitor following a court-martial, Benedict Arnold survived the American Revolution to spend the remaining two decades in exile.

I'm reconciled to the effect: This timeline is very similar to my native one. At least I didn't wake up to find out that everyone was speaking Basque. That said, what would the effects have been had Arnold been so arrested by the American revolutionaries and executed? Would there have been any noteworthy effects on the United States or on Anglo-American relations?

I doubt much change overall. Arnold wasn't particularly liked by his British allies when he switched swides so I doubt there will much tears shed if he were to be caught and executed.

Yeah, most Brits seemed to strongly dislike Arnold. The way they saw it , although Washington and Jefferson were traitors to the crown at least they stuck to their cause. They heartily disagreed with their cause but gave credit to them for at least sticking to their guns. Arnold was seen as a twice traitor, one who betrayed the crown and then sold his fellows out.

The Americans executed Major André as a spy, caught in civilian clothes carrying papers from Arnold concerning the defenses at West Point. Had Arnold been captured by the Americans there is no doubt he would have met the same fate, and with less kindness than was shown to André who was respected by his captors. Arnold was of no value to the British following his defection, and having Arnold executed by the Americans would not have troubled them one bit.
