WI: Battle of Medak Pocket escalates?

In 1993, Croatian forces launched an offensive against Serbian forces, during which evidence of serious war crimes against Serb civilians emerged. The Croatian offensive was by Canadian and French peacekeeeprs, and the Croatians, after being repelled and facing a public relations disaster due to growing accusations of war crimes, withdrew. It was actually Canada's first major land battle since the Korean War.

Suppose, however, that the Croatians doubled down and launched an all-out offensive against the peacekeepers, employing tanks and artillery, maybe even airstrikes. What would be the repercussions of it?

It would have been easy for Croatians to open fire AGAIN if that Canadian colonel had not invited international news photographers to follow him as he walked to the Croatian roadblock.

... What would be the repercussions of it?

Eventually the NATO forces stop screwing around & put some hurt on the Croatian malcontents. Along the way the Chinese embassy will get bombed again through incompetent staff work. & some local Croation commander or other will over compensate by killing more unarmed men, women, and children.

The Repercussions? The NATO force remove the blue covers from their hats, smile like a Cheshire cat that has just found a mouse to play with and go full out Fulda Gap mode on them (which is more than likely why this OP POD never happened)

This asumes not only that battle actually happened (I asume so, since it is not stated here), but that Croats are stupid as bricks.

Croatian leadership expressly entered many agreements and attempts at peace talks just to appease certain western countries, since there was still a lot of preference for Serbia in the West. No way would there be an order to attack the blue helmets. The whole event is fishy even IOTL. There's been no concrete evidence to support it.

Now, the attack on Banja Luka that was IOTL cancelled due to outside pressure could maybe lead to a confrontation with the West, if it were not stopped. Apparently there was a threat of military response by Americans, if the joint Croat/Muslim operation was carried out fully.
