WI: Austrian victory at Battle of Grocka

The battle of Grocka was a decisive defeat for Austria by the Ottoman Empire and came as a shock after the winning streak under Eugene of Savoy. The Austrian army had been instructed to meet the Ottomans in combat as soon as possible so the Austrian cavalry rushed to engage the better prepared an numerically superior Ottoman forces. After the staggering defeat the Austrian nobility became eager for peace and lost all of their Balkans conquests. So what if the Austrian cavalry don't leave the Savoy infantry behind and engage the Ottomans in a place that is less advantageous to the Ottoman position and defeat the Ottomans?

The War between the Habsburgs, Russians and the Ottomans. Probably drags on in TTL. If the Austrians can defeat the Ottomans decisively enough they might be able to successfully hold Belgrade.

The potential of a Swedish invasion might be enough to get both European powers to seriously pursue negotiate in 1739-ish. Whether the Ottomans would go for their proposed territorial losses is an entirely different thing. Perhaps they would be forced to make far more modest gains when the Habsburgs pull out due to the war of the Austrian succession.

Optimistically, Russia might gain access to the Black Sea, Austria might gain some border regions and keep Belgrade.
