WI: Austria support Gradascevic

Husein Gradascevic was a Bosniak leader who revolted against the Ottoman Empire in 1831-1832 (the Bosnian Uprising).

What if Gradascevic had asked for and gotten Austrian support and an independent Muslim Bosnia emerged in Austria's orbit?

But Gradascevic's movement was not for an independent Bosnia; it was an internal revolt aimed at canceling the reforms of the Ottoman government. Gradascevic claimed to be fighting against the Sultan's "faithless advisors", and not against the Sultan himself. In fact, he asked to be appointed the Sultan's governor in Bosnia. Accepting the overlordship of a Christian power would be totally contrary to his aims.

Austria was against the forming of a Christian Greek state. I can't see them supporting a Muslim Bosnian state either. Letting the Ottoman State crumble isn't on Austrian interest.

Austria is also busy in repressing insurrections in various Italian states, there is a Polish insurrection under way and the creation of Belgium is a very sore point. Not to mention the situation in France, which is making everyone nervous.
The last thing they might want at this stage is to open a front in the Balkans, since they would lack the troops, the money and the will to do anything there.
