WI : Austria Hungary participates to the Olympics

Hello, I was wondering if it would have been possible that Austria and Hungary participated as one team during the early Olympics. You get bonus points :
-if it has consequences on the way insiders see Austria Hungary
-if it's organized on Austro-Hungarian ground (and even more if it's in some consensual city)
-if the they win

Oh and you can delay WWI if you need a bit more time

not really Bohemia participated as an independent team. its easy to come up with some sort of scenario where the KUK could only have one team.
If the union in one team is not a problem, then there is the nenxt step in the plan, saving KuK

Well, according to wikipedia, Austria Hungary totalized 1 gold, 6 silvers and 6 bronze in 1900, the best was Hungary with one gold, two silvers and two bronze ... they would be fourth ... maybe the success of this team (being fourth out of 24) and the fact that they ended up 4th, there might be a trend of sport in A-H. So maybe (I say maybe) people would start enjoying sport and participate to collective events. Sport would become politized as a factor of Union ...

Probably only way is that Austria-Hungary somehow survives longer than in OTL (no matter how) and it federalise so that Hungary would be only just one state among Croatia, Bohemia, Galicia, etc.

A story: on the first olimpics Alfred Hajos was the first hungarian gold medal winner, in swimming (2 golds actually). During the award ceremony they started to play the imperial hymn. He stopped them and sung the hungarian hymn himself.

Back to topic: Hungary had completly independent sport associations and I suspect that Croatian sport associations were independent from Hungary (I know that there never played any croatian football teams in the hungarian league). I suppose the same for Austria and Bohemia.

Point is, the various sport associations of the empire were disunited from the get go because they were organised from below and the nationalist people never thought of creating imperial leagues and created in every case national leagues. Maybe if they were organised at least partly from above, like someone of the dynasty became an enthusiast seeing it as a chance to bring the empire together.

Someone who might be interested would be Franz-Ferdinand, he was also kinda federalist, so maybe promoting sport as a mean of union between the people would work. (Makes me think of Catherine de Médici by the way, if you can make to people dance together you can make them side together, peace by joy, politizing entertainments ...)

No, this would on the contrary be opening Pandora's box. If Austria Hungary federalize AND every ethnicity that was under hungarian control remains under hungarian control, you'd have revolts everywhere, plus since Bohemia has it's own team, national team does not depend on the status of the nation, no matter if it's an actual state or something else. If you want to federalize, do it as United States of Greater Austria were planned, and then add in the contract "USGA is a country composed of many nations, who promise to work together and show a united face to the world." making diplomacy and external affairs national prerogative.
