I'm planning (although I realistically don't know if I will ever write it) a timeline on Finnish economic history where nuclear power is of far more importance than OTL. I admit it will be an atomic wank.

The POD will have to be in late 1950's with practical implications starting to be seen in 1960's and 1970's. There can not be truly major political shifts, ie. Finland will be tied to USSR until dissolution of Soviet Union etc. There has to be some kind of political boondoggling with potentially reactors provided by Sweden (as in OTL, perhaps with joint Finnish program), Soviet Union (as in OTL) and perhaps from UK due to UK being a major trading partner.

Why nuclear power? Unlike Sweden or Norway Finland lacks potential for large amount of hydro power due to rather flat geography. Special demand for energy consumption is to provide large amount of district heating due to country situated far north. The heating for more distributed housing can be provided by electricity in combination with air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps.

Bonus points which I try to achieve will be

- Serially produced small-scale Finnish reactors for combined heat and power, something like proposed Asea Atom SECURE during 1980's http://www.iaea.org/inis/collection/NCLCollectionStore/_Public/20/012/20012503.pdf
- Large scale Finnish electrical vehicle industry
- Domestic nuclear fuel production cycle after the fall of Soviet Union
- In addition to Nokia a Finnish economic success of nuclear power plant exports (I'm aiming high) from 1990's onwards, particularly to developing countries.
- Finnish Tesla equivalent created in early 21st century

Has there been any TL's written along these lines for some other countries or am I missing some possibilities?
