WI: Archduke Ferdinand lived?

This is a very plausible scenario as the assassins who killed Franz Ferdinand were by no means professionals. What if he lived and there was no WWI? WWI led to many of the conflicts and events later on in the century (e.g. the economic collapse of the depression, WWII, the Cold War). What if he had lived and WWI had never happened?

Even if he lived (and nobody get hurt), Austria-Hungary would still want retribution for the attack.

The attempt alone was more than sufficient excuse(by the legal traditions of the time) for Austria to punish Serbia.......a thing long on the Empire's Bucket List. Even no attempt at all would only delay things until the next spark fell into the tinder. To avoid a big war ya gotta void Brit promises to Belgium and German no strings attached backing of Austria. In that case a German vs France or Austria vs Russia war could be kept local.

Best long term fix- an Anglo-German Co-Dominium (all in the extended monarchial family so to speak) as equal partners at the top of the world economic food chain with the USA as perhaps an eventual junior partner.
