WI: Archduke Charles dies at Stockach?

At the Battle of Stockach in 1799, Charles helped turn the tide of the engagement by personally rallying his grenadiers. So, what would happen if he got shot in the process? Not only would Austria be deprived of one of their best generals, but also the one who helped modernize their army between 1805 and 1809. How important was Charles to the reform process, and would the Austrians have been able to put up nearly as tough a fight in '09 without them? Would the Empire's lifespan be shortened by years or even decades with a poorer showing in the Napoleonic Wars generally?
