WI: Anton Drexler Stays in charge of the Nazis?

The DAP (not NSDAP) under Drexler remains one of a large number of völkisch groupuscules. It would either disappear or be absorbed in a larger organization.

Hitler was the key to the Nazis becoming anything other than an anti-Semitic drinking club. He was their most popular speaker, and his oratory brought most of the members who joined after him (as well as important figures like Goering and Goebbels). If Drexler remains in charge Hitler won't stay in the Nazis for very long, because he hated any position other than leader.

Hitler was the reason Drexler was overthrown as head of DAP. Assuming no Hitler is the reason Drexler stays on, speakers like Julius Streicher and Herrmann Esser could still make waves in the early 1920s. Dietrich Ekart was in poor shape and died in 1923. Alfred Rosenberg might then become more powerful in the Nazi party, particularly if something then happens to Drexler in Hitler's absence.

Simply enough Hitler goes and forms his own political movement, that was the implicit threat when he made his play for the leadership, and it was his initial plan when he came in contact with the German Workers Party. Drexler simply ceases to be the footnote he is IOTL.
