WI: Anglo-Austro-Prussian Union

Say in an alternate TL, Queen Sophie of Prussia becomes queen after George August dies in the early 1700s (preferably in the realm of 1708-1715) with his own sons dying as well (perhaps from Small pox) Later on down the line, Sophie, who has supreme authority over her husband over the new Prince of Wales, FtG, marries him to Maria Theresa in the 1720s to 1730s. What would be the most immediate result of this? I think the War of Austrian Succession may actually have a lot more about this due to how now to Great Powers are in Union with one another via their king/Archduke, Frederick.

I think ITTL, the WoAS would be like this: France, Spain, Sweden, Ottoman Empire, and Bavaria vs Prussia, Great Britain, Poland-Lithuania, Russia, the Netherlands, the entire HRE and Hanover, and (Possibly) Denmark. Who would win this alternate war and how would History change due to this happening?

we can have Frederick Wilhelm I die from Smallpox in the early to late 1720s so as to allow Frederick to convert to Catholicism and marry Maria Theresa.

ASB, Plausible, or just simply idiotic? I would love to hear your responses and since this is completely WI, you can make fun of it however you like.

Frederick converting is hard enough, but you can't have the same person reign Britain and Austria. British royals mustn't be (edit: ) Catholic, but Habsburgs practically have to.

Mustn't be CATHOLIC.

But yeah, as Max said - you've got some major issues there.

Anglo-Prussia isn't impossible, and you could (in theory), overthrow the Hapsburgs, but considering that as soon as you have Anglo-Prussia you've got France and Austria going "...uuuuhhh...." at each other, any such move would be against both.

Then again, the English could always try and claim the French throne via nonsense and chicanery. (i.e. Angevin Empire). That is probably easier than Austria.

At which point... I don't think anyone could stop them claiming to be the right HRE and conquer Austria.

Anglo-Austro-Franco-Prussian union FTW!!!

Without the pesky nations of Spain, Portugal, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, and the Balkans. :p

"Time to avenge the betrayal of that realm of the Piast traitors"
"As the Holy Roman Emperor and King of the Romans, I claim my rightful Empire"
et al.

It is quite silly how you could bluster your way. But it only works with some equally absurd combination of nations.

Plus, any Anglo-Prussian Empire would also have Russia to worry about. So that is a bit ... troublesome.

Russia against a majority of Europe, it's hardly fair.
