WI - Anglish is embraced as either an English dialect or official language

IMO it wouldn't as hard as people make it out to be at least if it's not done in a 100% purist fashion, for example English could import Germanic equivalents of many words from Dutch, Frisian, Low German, Scandinavian and heck even from their own Northern dialects or Scots. They would still have Romance borrowings for words that don't have an equivalent in any other major Germanic tongue.

I'm not sure about how late the POD could be, maybe during the 16th century France suffers greatly geopolitically and different religious changes push English towards divergent spelling and an alt-Shakespeare would push the language towards less use of Romance borrowings, also adding stronger role of the Hansa and the United provinces in England, not sure how you do that though.

A weaker/softer Norman takeover might work as a POD, I think some one did a similar TL. Basically instead of The Bastard coming over and Conquering everything, he is chosen by the witenagamot to be king of their own will (though in the TL I mentioned they did it in order to counter Hardrada)

Not sure of the PODs involved though was thinking Anglish somehow becomes a regional dialect or comes into being as a more fashionable (if possibly classist) variant of English.

I did it in my TL.

Took a more isolationist and Puritan Britannia, and the advent of linguistic purism in the 19th century.
