WI: Andrew Jackson dies in 1832?

What if, on the eve of the Nullification Crisis and before he could sign the Force Bill into law, Andrew Jackson died of (insert cause here)? There was no Vice President at the time and a major crisis is threatening to engulf the States, so, basically, what would have happened?

(Might write a TL on this, FYI)

President Andrew Jackson signed the Tariff of 1832 on July 14, 1832.

Senator Littleton Tazewell served as President Pro Tempore of the US Senate from July 9-16, 1832 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Littleton_Tazewell). Tazewell was known as a Jacksonian Republican.

The line of succession was different then, the Secretary of State was next in line after the President and Vice-President (and there was no VP at this point, as the OP states). So the new President would be Edward Livingston.

No it would be Tazewell. Cabinet Officers were brought into the line of succession only in 1886.
