How would this be brought about? Would Britain, after an initial American Revolution, emancipate all slaves in an attempt to weaken the colonies, or would emancipation only happen gradually like OTL?

the slave trade in the British Empire, in particular the Atlantic slave trade, and also encouraged British action to press other European nations to abolish their slaves trades, but not to abolish Slavery itself, this came about in 1833.

Somerset v Stewart state trial case.
Have Charles James Fox (who was already noted as an anti-slavery campaigner) campaign for the end of Slavery stating that "if we can enslave a man because the colour of his skin, what stops someone enslaving me because of the
This soon involved the monarch when King George III's brother, Prince William, the Duke of Clarence, who at that time, a member of the House of Lords, spoke out publically against the abolition of not only the slave trade, but also the unethical practice of slavery it self.
This would lead to the Southern colonies in America rebelling, HOWEVER, the northern states may show loyalty (like the Canadians) and stay linked to Britain.
What a brilliant TL
