WI: America pays it's war debt

As the title says, what if America pays it's war debt to France? How does that affect the French Monarchy? I know the crown being bankrupt was only a part of the reason for the French Revolution, but if the US had paid the debt owed to France, would this have prevented the revolution, delayed the revolution, or would it not have any appreciable effect?

I know that under the Articles of Confederation paying the debt would be practically impossible. But say Congress is able to collect the funds needed. Would paying the debt, or at least making payments on it, affect the French Revolution at all?

It might have delayed it, but eventually the king is going to call to call the Estates General and all hell is still going to break loose. The problems of the French monarchy were systemic and not due to any single issue such as the money loaned to the Americans.

This was my thinking as well. That the American debt was only part of the problem. Hell, even if the debt was paid there's no gaurantee that the French Crown uses the money any better than they did.

If the debt is paid, how long do you think the Revolution gets delayed? I'm thinking 6 months to a year. At most.
