WI: America Loses in the Battle of Fallen Timbers

Alright, so, the Battle of Fallen Timbers (1794) was the last battle of the Northwest Indian War, resulting in an American victory and no major conflict with Indians in the region until 1811.

Now, the Northwest Indian War was one of the worst wars for the fledgling United States, resulting in more losses than the wars of Geronimo, Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, Cochise and Red Cloud combined.

So, what if, somehow America suffers a severe defeat at the battle?

Further, what might happen if the US, after suffering such a defeat decides to not move into the Northwest territories (Great Lakes region) while the Western Confederacy (the major Indian force) becomes more centralized and say starts trading with France or Britain for weapons and such?

The Indians and the United States is much worse than Rome v. Gaul. There was a lesser technological gap and there was a somewhat-smaller population gap. So the USA gets beaten, it comes back again and again, beats the Indians down, Manifest Destiny proceeds. I mean, the Indians had already defeated the USA earlier in a much more devastating defeat than Red Cloud's War. The Battle of the Wabash. All that did was piss Columbia off and she went again and again at the Indians until she wore them down.
