WI Allies decided to make their last stand in Peloponese in 1941?

In 23 April 1941 following the capitulation of Greek Army Allies decided to make a last stand in Thermopylae (that is Central Greece) in order to allow their troops to evacuate to Crete Island...
WI British chose to fortify Peloponese instead (before Greek Army collapses) which is an area with many mountains and could be easily defended (Central Greece has too many valleys and is open to attacks from all sides)
Could a well fortified Peloponese along with Cunningham's help could have lasted longer in German attacks?

SPARTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But to be serious, my opinion is that they could have held them in the Peloponese, but the military effort just wasn't there. The British were more interested in Egypt and the homeland than Greece and that showed during the war.

If Allies blew up the bridge in Corinth Canal in time Germans would have to either try an amphibious assault to Peloponese (which would be slightly difficult with RN around Peloponese) or bring Luftwaffe to help them... They would have secured a beachhead or something in coastal Peloponese but proceeding to the mainland would be difficult with all the mountains acting as natural defenses and slowing them down...
