WI: All Military Aircraft Switched

Not sure if this has been done before but I had a idea.

What is all the worlds military OTL aircraft were made to lose against whatever aircraft they were competing against?

So instead of the F-22 Raptor, the YF-23 Black Widow gets made.

Instead of the F-18 Hornet, the F-17 Cobra wins out.

Instead of the CF-18 Canada gets the F-16 or F-14

Etc...

What else can you guys think of?

The YF-17 was the competitor to the F-16. When it lost to the F-16 Northrup partnered with McDonnell Douglas to modify the design to meet the navies need for a next gen fighter. And the changes were pretty major.

Oh you also forgot the A-9 vs the A-10.

But to answer your question in most cases not much difference. In most head to head competitions the differences aren't really that great since they were designed to the same spec. The big differences would be in which corporations would profit (or survive)

You could have most bombers being replaced with zeppelins if the POd is too early.
