Wi: Al-Aqsa Mosque blow up after the 6 day war

say shortly after its capture in the 6 days either some soldiers or the Israeli government blow up the dome of the rock

Would this lead to renewed 6 days with possibly Iranian or Turkish involvement

What would be the impact on Israel's relations with the Muslim world and its neighbors

would this lead to an earlier rise of Islamic fundamentalism

It would be an incendiary incident.

But I'm not sure what the Muslim world would do about it in the short term. Attack Israel? Already tried that and lost. Suicide bombings? They're doing that in OTL.

Long term, the third temple would become their #1 target and would go through cycles of being shelled by artillery and rebuilt. You don't see peace with Egypt or Jordan on our lifetimes.

I'm pretty sure there's too many theological issues to even think of building a Third Temple. Like how since they can't figure out where the Holy of Holies was/is, most Orthodox Jews don't go to the Temple Mount because they don't want to accidently step into the Holy of Holies. And what if when you built the Third Temple, you put the Holy of Holies in the wrong place? I don't think G*d would appreciate that. I'm sure if the path was cleared to building a Third Temple, there would emerge a branch of Jews trying to build the Third Temple, but you'd fragment Orthodox Judaism.

Both secular and religious authorities in Israel don't want those issues, so it's hard to believe they'd blow up Al-Aqsa mosque since it would invite those issues, in addition to the secular consequences.

It would mean every muslim country on Earth hates them, in fact, no longer just in theory and is willing to expend copious amounts of men and material on it. This also brings in large and powerful muslim countries who have traditionally kept the matter at arms length, such as Pakistan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and even Shah of Iran. Imagine large armies pouring into Syria and Jordan, Pakistani and Indonesian Submarines operating against Israeli shipping, airforces of all countries sending large and capable detachments.

Israel is fucked. ANd they know it. Which is why they have gone out of their way in OTL to avoid such a thing happening.

Hates them, yes, more antisemitism, yes, but that drastic? No. Muslims and their leaders are not that simple-minded to have such an utter freakout over the al-Aqsa Mosque. Muslims are not a bull driven mad by the colour red (in this case, an outrage Israel did). Some certainly are that simple-minded, but those Muslims do not exclusively drive the foreign policy of Muslim nations.

It would be seen as a direct attack on Islam, it would mean that Israel would be explicitly trying to provoke the Muslim world. Why would they do something so obviously evil? Only a few Israeli religious nuts would consider doing something that insane and as terrible as I think the Israeli government is I can't ever imagine any Israeli government doing something that insane.
The repercussions would not only be felt in the Middle East or Muslim majority countries but even secular Muslim minorities in other countries would be incensed, think terrorism is bad today? It would be a joke compared to what would happen if anyone attacked Al Aqsa Mosque.
Hell I'm agnostic but grew up in a Muslim home and even I could imagine an event like that would make me go full on religious.
