WI: AKP deposed by the military

What if the AKP was deposed by in a military coup after the Turkish General Elections in 2002?

What happens to Turkey? Would revolts have taken place there? Would there be some sort of armed rebellion?

There would definitely be revolts taking place, for a very simple reason. Here was a party, elected by the people to form a Government, who was reasonably popular, and who wanted to change the Turkish economy around for the better with the hope that it would be a member of the EU. What would a military coup have achieved? Inflation would go through the roof (at this point the Turkish lira was suffering from very high double-digit inflation; another military coup would turn that inflation into something that would make the Zimbabwean dollar seem like peanuts in comparison), Brussels would permanently ban Turkey from becoming an EU member period, and there would be rioting worse than any other rioting that has ever happened in both Turkish history and modern European history. That would be the reality.
