WI - Ajuran Sultanate fails to repel Oromo invasion?

The Oromo probably overrun all of Jubaland. They will likely get stopped a bit south of Mogadishu instead of where they were stopped OTL. The Oromo end up being the largest ethnic group in the horn by an even larger margin.
So then what happens with the Oromos in Ethiopia? Do they end up remaining the majority there or a sizable minority?

Oromo will probably remain a majority in Ethiopia. Not like conquering elsewhere will cause their homeland to change too much. Their kingdom isn't much like the Roman Empire (which had Phillip the Arab as an Empire who was ethnically... Arab. Admittedly legally Roman and either he and his brother or their father was adopted according so Roman Sources)

So then what might the effects on Somalia be?

Most of their rulers had a hands off rule on local customs as long as everyone paid taxes, so for the first three generations... not much on the small scale in terms of society. Just switch out the rulers at the top, but on the bottom things stay the same. The local elite might start converting and intermarrying with Ethiopians and that is where the butterflies start. I don't know much about specific families local landowning class in the Ajuran, so I am not sure how that would play out. Just as a Persian victory as marathon might not change much for non-Athens in the short run. It would be like an alternate history fan from where England's Henry II died with peaceful succession to his brother Geoffrey trying to figure out what would happen if Henry married Elanor but didn't know anything about the Capetian Family (besides they ruled France and the basic family tree I mean personality wise) or any of the French noble families outside Normandy and Anjou.

This seems particularly interesting - perhaps this lays the foundation for a state to encompass the Horn of Africa?

Could potentially happen if Emperor Amde Seyon I is more successful in his expansion into the Horn of Africa and lays the foundations for Ethiopian hegemony over trade routes.

This seems fairly plausible. I don't think anyone should send anything but a trading expedition to Arabia though... going beyond the Horn of Africa and across the Sea is just asking for trouble. Sticking to local gains maximize the use of the military, one with some of the highest quality of the region.
