WI: Aisha wins the Battle of the Camel?

Kind of sketchy on this one (for instance the Wiki Article is hopelessly tainted at this moment) but as I understand before Muawiyyah, Ali fought a coalition gathered by one of Muhammed's wives, Aisha who supported someone else as Caliph, and won. From what I've found Aisha seems to have operated in some sort of command position.

So what happens if Aisha has a total victory (i.e. Ali is killed in battle and his forces routed) through some combination of changes?

Not much for Byzantium, but large changes for the Caliphate.

Having just glanced at the article, I agree that it is crap. But I think it was important for me to at least get SOME background on it.

My post's title really says all I can think of.

She was OUTRIGHTLY in the command position, as she was the freakin' general-in-chief ! She was the one who started the whole thing after all....

Had I been the certain Pasha while in a no good mood, I would've accused you of miss thinking women's position in Islam already. Fortunately I'm Ridwan Asher in a no good mood, so I'll just bash wikipedia for that.

Back to the point, this would make a huge butterflies! No guarantee that Muawiyyah won't make a move in the future of TTL, but certainly without the same reason he had IOTL.

If Ali would be killed, let's say that he would be killed in action or something, like got an arrow, killed by a while-frenzy one of Aisha's trooper, etc. I doubt that Aisha actually intended to bring Ali his death, though I got no concrete basis for my argument here.

Wonder who will be the next Caliph had Aisha co. won. IIRC two allies of her in the battle, Zubayr and Talhah, especially Zubayr, was one of the considerable candidate for Caliph in post-Uthman election. But what the most certain is, that the people of Shi'at Ali is for a different history after this......

Apologies for offending with that remark.... I am never sure what to believe about women in Islam (with the acception of Al-Andalus), so I just try to stay away from the situation. That said I have been slowly reading the "Mother of Believers" book about Aisha and am becoming rather a fan.

Yes it would be Ali dead during the battle by that random chance of battle, Aisha wouldn't be executing him or anything.

If hz. Aisha(r.a.) would have won... there would be no change. hz. Muawiye(r.a.) would still be the caliph, only quicker.
