WI/AHC - Unified South Slavic State

The challenge is to have a unified South Slavic state which by the present day is composed of OTL Northern Bulgaria, most of Serbia (minus Vojvodina), Kosovo and Montenegro with PODs ranging from prior to the invasion of the South Slavs to the Bulgarian Empires.

Bonus point if the country ends up becoming Protestant.

PoD is 1878 with Russia creating a much smaller Bulgaria then they originally did. Bulgaria minus East Rumelia (still Ottoman) + Dobruja. A different conference of Berlin follows. If Bulgaria remains small and Serbia remains somewhat as an example, Bulgarians may look at Serbia as well as the leader of South Slavs. To get accepted by the Bosnian Muslims, you might need a PoD of 1804 where the Rebellion of Karađorde does not alienate the Muslims from the Serb Revolutionaries.

A surviving Paulicianism / Bogomilism taking hold over the ATL unified South Slavs (or would it be Bulgarians in this scenario) could be considered a precursor to Protestantism, potentially laying the groundwork for them becoming Protestant.

Otherwise can probably see such a state forming with a stable Byzantine Empire or post-Byzantine Greece state, perhaps ATL Bulgaria ends up absorbing other South Slavic peoples early on.
