WI+AHC: Sweden wins Russo-Swedish War (1788~1790))

*You may define "victory" in different ways.
How hard would it be for that "victory" to come about?
What would be the positive consequences for Sweden after the "victory"?
Could this "victory" bring the demise of Russia, if coupled with a Turkish victory in the Russo-Turkish War (1787~1792)?
What would Sweden do with its Scandinavian neighbours after its victory?
Just writing anything you know about this war is also acceptable:p:D:p:D
(except copy+paste from an encyclopedic source!)

We had a greatTL on this by I believe Drakon Fin that got taken all the way to the Napoleonic Wars but it seems to have died. Alas. :(

With much of the Russian army tied up fighting at this time the Turks, a successful landing near St. Pete early in the war when Russia was particularly unprepared and carrying the city (however unlikely), might mean that Catherine sues for peace on favorable terms for the Swedes.
What those terms might be, I could only venture that it might include some relatively minor territorial adjustments (the Russians at this point were never going to give up their position in the Baltic). It would help the Swedes if Britain, the Dutch and/or the Prussians had joined the war as allies ---OTL they had agitated for Sweden to go to war against Russia to offset Russian successes against the Ottomans.
It was a shitty little war in that it was primarily instigated by the Swedish King to offset domestic problems, much good did it do him.

What would make those countries join as allies against Russia? Would we see a Scandinavian version of the Crimean War 60 years early?

Probably only if they saw Russia as a direct threat rather than only seeing Russia as an increasingly powerful competitor. Those countries weren't about to get involved, since mission accomplished, they got someone else to do the work of pinpricking Russia.

so how would countries like Britain or France view Russia more as a threat and decide to help?

Britain had a direct hand in saving Sweden in pretty much every war Sweden fought with Russia from the 18th c. onwards. The threat from Britain on the sea was always a major consideration (and was definitely something Catherine with her Armed Neutrality was aware of).

Generally, Catherine really rather wanted to make peace and some kind of nominal victory by Sweden isn't out of the question. Considering all the other theatres the Russians were engaged in at the same time it's understandable.

For the second part of the OP's question: yes it's possible for Turkey to do somewhat better and on paper they should have but in reality the Russians won the war in a completely dominant fashion and that speaks to some real organisational weaknesses of the Ottoman navy and army.
