With a POD after Islam, make an expedition from a nation located on the other end of the Cape of Good Hope (so bordering the Indian or Pacific oceans) border Africa and reach Europe and dominate trade and the oceanic lanes there much like Portugal dominated the Indian Ocean during the early Age of Discovery. Bonus points if they *discover* Brazil. Extra bonus points for circumnavigating the globe.
Why would an indian/arab nation attempt to venture accross thousands of miles in the ocean beyond anything that had been documented to reach europe? If the pod is after islam, europe has already suffered from the collapse of the classical era and is not the major economic center of the world.
You could somehow try to make western europe incredibly rich, but I can't figure out a reason why a nation from a region that already has easy access to high valued trade goods such as spice and silk would want to sail all around the cape to reach europe, which had no such goods and wealths that can be easily turned into profit.
Sure, you could always go for a religious motivation, as a zealot muslim nation in the area could feel compelled to bring the jihad to europe. Even then, it could be only a bonus, as it was to the portuguese.
You would also need to make the naval technological advancements required for such a journey to be developed in the region you specified. Again, that would be hard to do, as no nation felt the need to explore the seas as the portuguese did.
