So, during two weeks in May of 1968, France seemed to be on the verge of Revolution, the majority of its workforce and student population on strike, factories and universities occupied, the President fleeing to Germany, and tanks surrounding Paris.

Despite all that, things calmed down as quickly afterwards, with De Gaul coming out of the following elections with his greatest majority yet.
So my question, how to do you make things go bad? Either in the sense of widespread street fighting and civil chaos or civil war, or an actual revolution.
The ideas that come to mind are either De Gaul's helicopter crashing on the German border, considering the way the national government was mostly running around like a headless chicken when he was gone.
Alternatively, if on the May 30th Protests, the police respond to the massive protests heavy-handily, and incite the protesters to fight back and start occupying public buildings. Which would in turn require deploying the military in Paris to throw them out, something that (according to Wikipedia of course) a full third of the population said they would fight.
So yeah, what would be the results?
