WI/AHC: Communist South Africa

It wasn't clear from above, but the date of the Communist takeover would be around or after the date of the OTL National takeover, in 1949 or later. The POD is several decades earlier, with Afrikaner nationalism developing in a completely different ideological direction.

What if the non communist elements like the Dutch reformed church make alliance with moderate Africans? Remember up until 1970’ Africans want partipation in government not full control. Subwoke and the pan africanist congress would ally with Zionist and other local communities of faith. The Africanist were very anti soviet.

Are you referring to the Eritrean People's Liberation Front?
Yes the Eritrean rebels were communists fighting communist Ethiopian government. Cuba for example actually refused to be involved due to fighting between two communist forces.

This was what I foresee as black rebels fighting white communists.

Note: South African white population saw a large migration from Europe after the war with socialism before war and communism after that would disappear

The Eritrean Liberation Front was the one who begun fighting against the Ethiopians in the 60s and were the prominent Eritrean resistance movement until the Second Eritrean Civil War ended in victory for the EPLF in the late 70s or early 80s.

Yes but the point was that it was communist insurgents fighting communist army. Maybe not in beginning but when Ethiopian communists came to power they did not recognize their fellow communist own aspirations but instead began battling them.

This was how I see similarly in South Africa.
