WI Admiral Makarov lives?

If he hadn't died during the sinking of the Petropavlovsk (let's just say that the flagship never struck a mine to begin with), how would Admiral Makarov have pursued the naval campaign up to Tsushima and how would he have approached that infamous battle (if indeed it still took place)?

I don't have a timetable of the siege of Port Arthur since the only way that Makarov will influence the outcome of Tsushima would be if he was not in Port Arthur. It is likely that with Makarov at the helm the Russian Pacific Squadron could escape engagement with the Japanese at the Battle of the Yellow Sea, where IOTL Vitgift nearly got the Russians out before he was killed.

A small surviving, tho damaged, force in Vladivostock would lead to a more cautious Japan, but things still rest with the Second Pacific Squadron as it makes its way around the globe.
