WI: Accident Filming "The Expendables"

Fairly simply POD, but I thought it might be of some interest to our Pop Culture experts.

While filming "The Expendables" Sylvester Stallone, during one of his personnel stunts, managed to break his neck. Thankfully there was no permanent damage that one would expect, but they still had to put a metal plate in. He returned to filming the movie shortly after.

Now, lets say that the injury is worse. Say, lethally so.

:( This is too terrible to think about

In regards to the POD... if enough has been filmed it becomes the tombstone of the action hero genre, likely with the Expendables getting the Heath Ledger effect, with the movie grossing hundreds of millions more than it did OTL, with people coming to see Stallone's last movie.

Of course, this all depends on how much of his role Stallone had filmed prior to the accident.

I can't find a definite date regarding the incident, but it was sometime prior to January 6th.

Course he could have died even further back. He challenged Dolph Lundgren to hit him as hard as he could in the chest. The result was his rib cage being impounded Stallone needing to be airlifted to the hospital.

Don't do this to us, man. The Expendables rocked. I'd be inconsolable if Rambo died.

Hmm, both of those put it before the filming of the scene with him, Bruce Willis and Arnold.

So it was in the middle of filming? I couldn't gauge what percentage of the film was completed by this time.

If it was in the middle of filming, do they discontinue the Project? Or do you try and do what "Plan 9" attempted to do (admittedly in that case they failed catastrophically)?
