WI: ABC never returned the 4pm timeslot to stations in 1984

In the fall of 1984, ABC was planning to make an announcement that they fail to return the 4pm time slot upon Edge of Night's cancellation.

However, ABC asked to join veteran game show host Jim Peck for a talk show, which is planning on to tape in Hollywood, which is due to replace The Edge of Night.

ABC could agree to offer for a Jim Peck-hosted talk show, which is due to start airing on December 31, 1984. Woody Fraser is however the show's producer and the announcer here is longtime ABC announcer Ernie Anderson. ABC offered the show to air live on the 4pm slot, which is aired on some markets (such as New York) at 10:00am, right before Trivia Trap.

Jim Peck's talk show was however cancelled after 13 weeks due to competition from Body Language and 4:30pm local programming on CBS and local programming on NBC, replacing it with reruns of Ripley's Believe It or Not!, which ABC introduced the show in 1982.
