WI Aaron Burr won the Support of Britain

In OTL, 1805, when his term as Vice President ended, Burr met with Anthony Merry, the British Minister to the United States. Burr offered to detach Louisiana from the Union in exchange for a half a million dollars and a British fleet in the Gulf of Mexico. Merry considered following through with the deal; however, those with whom he worked in London expressed no interest in furthering American secessionism.

But what if Parliament had shared Merry dissent for america and were willing to give Burr what he wanted to try to make his own personal Kingdom in the west? What effect would this support have on Burr 40,000 acre lease from Spain in Texas? Also could we see an earlier possible war with Britain? What other effects would we see?

For a start, when in 1805? Prior to a certain naval battle, I'd say no chance as the focus would be using the RN to defeat the Franco-spanish fleets.

Even after, Britain is still really going to want to focus on defeating France and this doesn't help with that in any way. Also by 1805 Britain had got over the loss of the colonies and was trading with them quite a bit (very important given the war in Europe) and wouldn't be that keen on losing a market.

Well, The wikipedia article said that one of the last times that Burr spoke with Merry was in November of 1805...Would a Parliament with alot more memebers who shared Merry's sentiment with the Americans give Burr his requested three lines of ships and money?

is Britain doing this because Hamilton loudly (and frequently) proclaimed himself to be part of Scottish nobility?
