WI: A tie in 1825 Contingent Election

Just like it says on the tin. What if when the House voted on the President, Crawford dropped out, all his states voted for Jackson, and just one state that voted for Adams IOTL voted for Jackson? With 12 states for each candidate, it would be a tie. So, what next? How do we resolve this constitutional crisis?

The Congress keeps voting until a consensus can be reached. If there is no President by Inauguration Day, I believe President Pro Tempore John Gaillard becomes Acting President.

No it would be the new Vice-President, John C Calhoun. He had a comfortable Electoral College majority.
