WI: A third faction in Napoleonic Wars

What if there's a third major faction in the Napoleonic Wars?

This faction, in theory, should engage in both diplomacy and war towards either Napoleonic France and the Coalition, as long as it suits their collective interests. They should be strong enough to stand on their own, won't give in to pressure by both sides. Basically, a very powerful incarnation of the League of Armed Neutrality.

How will this faction influence the dynamics of European geopolitics of the Napoleonic era? How will they shape the future of Europe?

Anybody interested to discuss this?

the problem here is that almost every state in the European theatre could fit in with what you have described barring Britain and France themselves. Prussia at times allied with Napoleonic France (through force) and at other times waged open war with the Napoleonic Empire. Spain was allied for most of the wars and yet Spanish irregulars with British assistance arguably did the most damage to Napoleon outside of Russia. In the end third parties are going to be relegated to having been on one side or the other by the history books.

The only third party i could see who could theoretically impact the wars would be a more powerful Ottoman empire who would be seen as separate from the other parties. This is due to the Sublime Porte often being seen as being in Europe but not a part of it. However the larger problem with this is that a stronger Ottoman empire probably stops Napoleon in Egypt/he never goes there in the first place which could upset his ascension to power stopping the Napoleonic wars cold just as they truly begin.

Sorry about this, i would normally say use the Russians but this was during the phase where they were desperately trying to appear european and actually did firmly pick a side
