So i've been playing around with the idea for a while now, Since i made some posters and artwork for a surviving commonwealth and I like to write a decent TL for it but i need some help. My main POD is that Cromwell gives the position of Lord Protector to someone else then his son. Here are some of my questions I need help with.
Those are my questions of the short term run. An other one of my POD's would be that the French revolution fails/never happens so you'll end up with a hardcore protestant republican Britain at the one side, and a fervently Catholic Monarchist France on the one side. Before i write a TL, I should get the history somewhat right, also a co-writer on this TL would be very useful.

- Who would that person be? It should be someone influential within the Commonwealth or someone in his inner circle.
- What to do with the Colonies? Will the British follow the same path as they did OTL or focus more on Europe?
