WI: A renaissance with Byzantine participation?

Say, the Byzantine Empire didn’t fall, but took active part in the renaissance.

The renaissance IOTL was dependent on Greek books and people driven out of the Empire by the Ottomans. So, what if all those elements stayed in Greece and Anatolia, while Italian technology and and philosophy were imported?

What influences would Byzantine participation have on the renaissance ?

The byz empire was dead after michael viii. If u have him live another 20 years then you have stable borders. This is vital. If you can achieve this and have the alliance with some of the itialian states not be parasitic but supportive then you might have some of this work
