WI: A Nixon Political Dynasty

Hey, guys, as you know Im working on my JPK Jr. TL, and my studies of the Kennedy's have renewed an intrest in all OTL 20th Century President's and their families. And after watching American Experience's bio on Nixon, I wondered if things were a little different with some of the other brothers, could we have had the good Quaker family more embroiled in National Politics? I was thinking it might be easier if Harold survives and develops a political career earlier and then Nixon and his younger brothers follow suit. But what are some of yall Ideas?

The Nixon Brothers

Harold Nixon (1909-1933): The Franklin of the Family, whose was considered the most popular out of all the brothers. Died at the young age of 24 due to a longtime battle with TB. I don't have that much information about him, but if any Nixonians do, please oblige.

Richard M. Nixon (1913-1994): Maybe Dick gets in office earlier in a more Press friendly environment either in '55 or '61 and makes room for his Brother's to succeeded him(not directly)

Donald Nixon (1914-1987): Seems more business prone and thorougly devoted to Dick's political success. Could he potentially be our Bobby analogue?

Edward M. Nixon (1930-???): The youngest out of the brothers, and probably has the most potential if Watergate never blows up. He received his
bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Duke and NC State, he embarked on a successful career working for and serving as an advisor to several cutting edge companies in the field of earth science. He is president of Nixon World Enterprises, Inc., and current chairman of the Pyron Solar Advisory Board in San Diego, California. By reflecting on heritage, education, extensive world travel, plus the encouragement of his older brother, President Richard Nixon, the author tells the story of an ordinary family striving to make a positive difference in the world. Their global mission aims to inspire more young Americans to reach for a new threshold of greatness for the country.

So how can we make this happen?

Harold Nixon was more of a JPK/JFK analogue in being a Franklin with a reckless streak. Like Joe Jr. and Jack, he had the sexual appetite of a rutting panther which might get him in trouble later on. He also wasn't overly ambitious, unlike Dick.

Donald, given his OTL record would be more of a Billy Carter analogue. The two brothers were never close, so scratch that. He wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer either.

Edward: perhaps, but he wasn't overly ambitious either.

If you're making Nixon/Kennedy comparisons, the proper one would be Dick and Bobby. Both were Orthogonians who were overshadowed by Franklin brothers early in life before coming into their own upon their elder brothers' death. Both were highly ambitious political loners whose personalities grated on their contemporaries.
