WI - A NATO Arm forces

How would they deal with the language barrier?

Regardless what the French might say about it, NATO is an english speaking organisation. 3/3/3/3 skills in english are a minimum requirement to serve in multinational commands, and given European education standards, not very hard to meet.
This might sound weird to some people in the US, but most Europeans find working in a foreign language normal.
 
Don't agree and my reasoning goes like this. You have to have a valid obvious and simple reason for a radical change like I am suggesting. The Warsaw Pact/Soviet Union is exactly that - They were seen as very real threat at the time. Add the perception of the US becoming more isolationist and you have the required trigger.
Even then it's not going to be enought for some country to agree to that.

There is one issue that I can see with the idea along those lines which is Greece and Turkey - The only way to sort that out would be either exclude both nations and work with the central European powers or leave one but not the other
