At the start of the Muslim conquests, a lot of foreigners didn't really know what to make of the new religion. Apparently some people thought that it was some new sect or branch of Judaism. ITTL these people would be right, and, although Islam would still seek to fight holy wars like the OTL Caliphate, in every other respect it would be essentially indistinguishable from Orthodox Judaism. How would this affect the course of world history, in intellectual terms and in terms of Christian-Jewish/Muslim relations?
