WI: A Japanese Shandong

The first world war has ended and the allies have decided to to award the Shandong peninsula to Japan.

In China their is much anger as the fourth of July movement takes to the streets of china in protest

POD: During the Washington navel treaty the western powers wishing good will in Japan decide that Shandong is rightfully japanese.

Now what happens?

Nothing, aside from the continuation of the Status quo. It might improve Anglo-Japanese relations though.

Tsingtao would probably be a local IJN base, and a few IJA divisions might be stationed there.

Weihaiwei would likely continue to have a British Garrison for a few more years, but it might be moved to Shanghai to protect the International Settlement, as a British supplement to the various other forces stationed there.
