Reddit's imaginarymaps forum recently hosted one interesting map, imagining a Finnish mandate of Ovamboland.

The inspiration for this seems to have been the OTL historical presence, from the late 19th century on, of Finnish Lutheran missions in this region in what is now the far north of Namibia. Presumably in this timeline, the strength of these Finnish interests in German Southwest Africa led, somehow, to Finland being given control of these territories. Perhaps Finland broke from Russia in an alt-1905 and was an ally of the Entente in its own right?

The mapmaker imagined the mandate coming to an end in 1975, with the region's merger into Namibia. If history went as OTL, including with a Winter War, I would imagine it ending earlier; I can definitely see South Africa occupying Finnish Ovamboland.

Thoughts?
