WI a dictator/political leader is found to have had secret children?

Inspired by my Books and Media thread on Hitler's Daughter and the old Breaking News thread, and thoughts about the children of dictators (due to being a procrastinator who should be studying). What if a dictator or supposed dictator known to be childless, or any political leader, was found to have had secret children?

Well, Stalin was known to have kids *and* had secret children. Stalin was evidently a bit of a rolling stone. I still have never figured out why women would sleep with Stalin to start with.

Someone I know said "Imagine being Stalin's first girlfriend." I don't think I'd sleep with a dictator.

Well, IIRC he had secret children by at least two women, and he was married twice.

Where Hitler by comparison seems too much a creepy stalker type to have attracted very many women at all.

Admittedly Stalin v. Hitler in a dating contest would probably be like deciding between an RPG and a bazooka for Russian Roulette.:D

Say Hitler had secret children (he was known to be childless) how would this impact attempts to track down ex-Nazis and bring them to justice? Now that's a good premise for an AH novel. Our protagonist discovers their great-grandparent, who immigrated to Argentina after the war and who they always thought was an orphan, was actually Hitler's secret son/daughter. That actually is kind of like the premise for this book where the heroine discovers her grandmother is actually a Holocaust survivor.

That's a premise that's as old as the hills.

What other books have that? Other than the Jackie French one I mentioned. Just because it's old doesn't mean you can't use it again :). And ETA, I think in Argentina a while ago there was a woman who claimed she was Evita's daughter. And there was another one who claimed to be Juan Peron's illegitimate daughter.

Maybe they weren't really given a choice?

He was a terrorist bank robber at the time. If they'd said no, the only thing he would otherwise have done was rape them, and that would have put him in some deep shit with the Central Committee of a sort that would be impossible to contain forever.

Mussolini's granddaughter is a prominent Italian politician, apparently.

If a descendant of said leader is the ambitious sort, they could try to go into politics and appeal to their ancestor's supporters.

However, there's also the danger of being killed by one's ancestor's political enemies.

Imagine some vengeful Holocaust survivors (or more realistically, someone younger but pissed off) traveling to Argentina to destroy Hitler's bloodline unto the tenth generation or something like that.

There are books and movies that have the "Hitler's secret kid" plot. There's even one like this where Hitler's secret kid takes over Argentina to recreate the Fourth Reich or some silly thing like that.

There's also the potential for a kid like Stalin's daughter Svetlana defecting to the major ideological enemy.......and William Patrick Hitler serving in the US Military.

Stalin's daughter apparently has been spending most of her adult life trying to avoid the publicity that comes with her father having been her father.

and did just that! 1967 to be precise. She defected to the US and then went back to the Soviet Union in 1986 (I think)

ETA: If I do eventually write this idea I mentioned, I can definitely say there'll be nothing like that in it. After all, why would Hitler's child necessarily be evil? I'd think if your father was the most hated man ever, you''d try to keep a low profile.

Sigged.

Anyways, on this subject, I recall a Frenchman claiming he was the secret love child between a WWI Hitler and a French woman, but if my memory serves me correct, this was proven false I do believe?

This is fiction, it's not required to make sense or adhere to consistency even on its own terms.

Yes, he's about as creditable in terms of that story as Ken Ham is on dinosaurs.
