With no Great War, the Home Rule goes into effect. The NORTH was prepared to use force to resist it...and you might have had the IRB fighting alongside British troops to defeat the rebellion in the north. Could go anywhere from there.
Certainly, if British troops and the moderate IRB fighters fought side by side to defend Irish rights against Carson and the northern rebels, there would be at least some more respect for the British--and perhaps staying in the Empire would work.
