WI 2 x President Marshall

Suppose Wilson's stroke had been fatal. Thomas Marshall would be President. How much impact does that have.

Assuming events in US politics still allow FDR to make Truman VP what if Truman died before the succession act was changed. I am guessing his death is not likely to have been an accident.

By the was George Marshall a Democrat or an independent?

How much impact?

Marshall reportedly said that the Lodge Reservations should be accepted. If so, the ToV would have been ratified and there would have been a US delegate art the League of Nations. How much difference that would have made is questionable, though.

Not much else changed except that when Harding takes office he doesn't have such a big pie of unfinished business that Wilson left unattended.

If before Jan 1947 it would by James F Byrnes. If later, then by Marshall.

Though born in PA, he was a Southerner by family background and settled in VA. In those days that would make him a Democrat if he was political at all.

How much impact?

According to Wiki he was opposed to recognising Israel. However, he might have changed his mind in office. Not sure how Korea would have been affected.
